Forward FAQ's

If I am committing to “Forward” at CrossWay Church, how does this change my giving to the funds I currently support?

During this two-year period, every contribution to God’s work through CrossWay Church is a contribution to our Forward generosity initiative. Every aspect of the vision God is calling us towards will be funded through Forward. There will not be separate funds for our General Fund, Building fund, or Missions and Benevolent Fund.

What are you asking me to do?

First and foremost, we are asking you to pray and seek God’s leading on what He is asking of you. Prepare your heart to hear Him, and then listen to what He says. Engage in a Grow Group, if you haven’t already. Spend time in personal reflection with God in the Forward Workbook you will receive during the Forward message series. Have great conversations with your spouse, your family, friends, or others who are on the same journey as you. Pray over what God would have you experience in this season. We are asking that you make a sacrificial commitment to gospel-centered generosity— whatever it is that God leads you to do. Follow His leading.

Finally, we ask that you open your heart to what God is doing. It is an awesome God we serve. He is moving in huge ways, and we anticipate an unprecedented impact from our collective Forward commitments—something only God can do. Please mark your calendar for Commitment Weekend November 16 & 17th and prepare to experience a life-changing worship service that will forever be remembered as a defining moment for our church and for our own faith.

How long is my commitment?

We are asking that everyone make a two-year commitment. The fulfillment period for your commitment will begin on commitment weekend, November 16th and 17th 2024, and will culminate in December of 2026.

Does it matter which CrossWay campus I attend?

No, it does not. CrossWay Church is one church in multiple locations and as such all giving to the Forward Campaign will go to fund the ministries and work at all campuses.

What if I have never given to CrossWay before?

Forward is a “one fund” generosity initiative, meaning that all donations to it go towards funding the entire ministry of CrossWay Church, including the building initiative and global missions. Forward is a call to sacrificial, gospel-centered generosity for absolutely everyone. If you have never given before, this is your chance to begin giving to the work of Christ.

What if I am new around here?

We believe the local church has the most compelling mission to which we can give our lives. We would love for you to make CrossWay your church home as we seek to lead more people to find and follow Jesus through Forward. You can get started by filling out a connect card to learn more or contact Jenny Hendricks, Director of Connection, at jennyh@crosswayc.org.

Are there additional ways besides cash that I can give towards Forward?

Be creative as you explore ways you and your family can give toward the Forward initiative. You might have stocks, property, or another form of stored resources with which God has provided you and from which He might be prompting you to give. If you need assistance facilitating gifts of property or stock, please contact CrossWay’s Executive Director of Operations, Ben Cartland at benc@crosswayc.org.

How can I give?

We have several options for giving. One is our giving envelopes provided in the seat backs each weekend in all our services. You can also give online at crosswayc.org or give through the mobile app that is available on both iOS and Android devices.

How can I find out more information about the Forward initiative?

For your first stop, check out the Forward website at www.crosswayc.org/forward. That will give you more info about this giving initiative.

Who is the best person to contact with a question about the Forward initiative?

If you have any questions related to the Forward initiative, please reach out to Pastor Jason Esposito (jasone@crosswayc.org) or Ben Cartland (benc@crosswayc.org).

What if I am in debt right now? Should I still give?

If you are currently making payments to eliminate debt, we commend you for your progress on this important goal. You should continue to do so. If we can help you on the journey to become debt free, please let us know. CrossWay offers biblically based financial counseling, financial planning resources, and a biblically based financial care group called Balanced. Please contact us if you would like to learn more or speak with a financial counselor.

However, being in debt doesn’t give us a pass on giving. Giving isn’t about what God wants from you, but what He wants for you. God instructs us to find a way to give with joy at all times, regardless of our circumstances.
